July 31st . Capt. Aaron & Capt Brian

Well it's been a really short summer so far ,we've been booked almost every day, and the days off have been spent on maintenance and catching up on projects on land. The fishing has been very good, our meatfishing has been excellent ,with good catches of snapper, both red and some very large gray snapper to boot. The kingfishing has been hot also, with average size being a little bigger than normal in my opinion. The shrimpboats are back at it now which is creating some fast action for sharks, both blacktips and sharpnose in shallow, and some very large silky sharks out deep. The tuna have started to show up out deep and we have been bringing in some good catches, this will only improve as the water cools down a bit. The ling fishing has been good as of late and we are up to 80 for the year. The tournament season has been going in full force and the fishing has been great. We fished in the rockport offshore challenge this year and we claimed the red snapper champion trophy with a fat 22lb snapper. We also weighed in a 41.3 lb. bull dolphin which got bumped out in the last minute of the weigh in. The billfishing was good during this tourney and we had plenty of action but not much luck. We had an estimated 400lb blue marlin on for 40 minutes but the hook pulled about 50 feet from the leader. We had two other blues up trying to eat but we failed to get a hook in either of them. A white marlin made a quick pass through the spread but we didn't connect on him either. Oh well, we had a good time and we will get em' next time. We still have a few weekdays available in the end of august and weekdays available in september, which in my opinion is one of the best months for all types of fishing.                                                Look forward to hearing  from you.       Capt. Brian

June 20 th.  Capt. Aaron & Capt. Brian

Just wanted to update everybody  on the fishing down here. The tournament season is cranking up now and we have been very busy up til this point. The weather has been mostly good down here til the last week or so, when we had our first cancellations due to weather. We always hope to reschedule our customers, but we always offer a full refund if the situation requires it, we know vacations are hard to schedule, so we just hope the weather will continue to take it easy on us. The fishing has been good. The billfish bite has heated up and we love to get out there and chase them , so give us a call if you are interested. The bycatch of billfishing, which is tuna, dolphin, wahoo, primarily ,have been staying strong in numbers which makes for an interesting day with plenty of action. We have also been doing some deepdropping with our newest toy which makes for some interesting , and pretty tasty catches, you never know what you will bring up from 1000' plus feet of water. Our regular meatfishing trips have been very productive still with kingfish, snapper, sharks, ling, and other misc. bonus fish mixed in for color. We have been doing quite a bit of light trolling, along with our meatfishing , on our longer trips, and it has been working out very well. The weedlines and rips which are so important to this kind of fishing have been hanging around, which balls up the bait that the wahoo and dolphin like to ambush, so the light trolling has been productive.  Thanks, and come down and get in on this great wearher and good fishing, Capt. Brian

P.S. If anyone is interested in the deepsea roundup, let us know as soon as possible, due to some last minute change in plans we now have those dates available.

May 21 st.  Capt. Aaron & Capt. Brian

The fishing has been consistent the past week but the wind has been consistent also. The catches have been mostly red snapper with the usual compliment of sharks, kings, triggers, ling, and misc. other species. Some nice grey snapper have been caught along with a couple of nice ling starting to show. The wahoo have started to make an appearance again with us losing a couple of big hoo on small lures while kingfishing. A friend of ours caught a 96lbr. last saturday, so looking forward to that. Thanks, Capt.Brian

Well I have my new computer online and will try to keep this page updated best as possible. The fishing has been good so far this year. We had the boat out for the month of february for repairs and t.l.c. as well as some painting, and started to fish march 5th. The Wahoo bite wasn't as good as last year but was still fun. The kingfish was wide open out there and the blackfin were biting on top so trolling was still fun and productive. Since the snapper season opened up they have been a big part of our trips. The fishing has been good for snapper with grouper ,amberjacks, ling, sharpnose sharks, triggerfish, and other misc. reeffish , rounding out the catches. The Blacktip and Spinner shark fishing has turned on bigtime with some really nice fish being caught , biggest being a 130lb. spinner so far, with big numbers being released after we kept what our customers wanted each day. We catch these in state waters so fishing liscence is required and you may keep one per person, but we suggest  only keeping what you feel you can use in a reasonable time. The Blacktips should remain redhot until the shrimpers are shut down , usually in mid-may , so if anyone is interested please try to get one in before then, it is really a good time. I'll get new pic's up and try to update the site overall so you can see what we have been up to,but remember ,I am a fisherman not a computer guy, so believe me , I'm trying. We look forward to fishing with everyone again , and we hope to hear from you soon. The weekends are already booking up fast so don't delay if there is a specific date you have in mind.                                 Thanks, Capt. Brian

Hey folks , for those of you who have been waiting for your pics, sorry for the wait . We have been fishing every day and have been slow to post reports .Fishing has been great with Blacktip Sharks showing up ,Kingfish moving inshore, and Red Snapper still biting well .We haven't been Billfishing lately but they are still out there with some good reports coming from my buddies that fish for Marlin exclusively.Tuna are starting to make a show but catches are still sporadic, hoping it will get more consistent  here in the next few weeks. We still have plenty of weekday availibility in September but our weekdays are booked through October at this time.  Thanks,Capt Brian

Well, the fishing has been great for us the past two weeks. Our meat fishing charters have been producing good with kings and snapper showing up strong since the hurrican scare. We have also been catching some nice dolphin,a few wahoo,as well as ling and some other misc. stuff for a bonus.   The big news for us has been the billfishing has been spectacular! We had a trip last saturday with my buddies from San Antonio ,Robo Morrison, his son Rollo, and Rollo's friend Andy Etlinger. The purpose of this trip was to try to catch Rollo his first billfish and it was definately meant to be.  It was flat calm as we made  our way out which is just icing on the cake for me when you have to run sixty miles. When we got there the fish were waiting for us, we caught a dolphin first, followed by two triple headers on blackfin tuna. After that a  38 lb. bull dolphin was put in the boat.Next up was a Sailfish which Rollo reeled in no problem.About ten minutes later Andy hooks up with a nice White Marlin and we get it in and released.Naturally we all start thinking grand slam at this point because thats the only way it could get any better than this! Well the stars were aligned this day because about two hours later we hooked up a Blue Marlin which Rollo released in about 25 minutes for our first ever GRAND SLAM!!  The celebration started shortly after that and two days later it still feels great every time I think about it. We had another big blue on about two hours after that but we managed to pull the hooks on it after it proceeded two strip about 500 yards of line, jumping and shaking all the way.  Overall it was an AWESOME day to be on the water with great weather and great crew .                                                STILL STOKED!!  and can't wait till the next trip,,    Capt Brian

July 9 ,Capt Aaron Chambers&Capt Brian Cody

Very busy lately with the entire month of July booked up and August getting that way fast.Several tournaments lately have kept us busy as well as our regular customers and their families. The fishing has been very consistent on our regular charters with snapper, kings, ling dolphin, some nice grey and dog snapper in the mix as well as the bonus sailfish and wahoo. The tournament fishing has been good for us but unfortunately we have come up short in the bigger tornaments so far. The Masters tournament was a good time and we caught one white marlin, one sailfish, wahoo, yellowfin, blackfin, and dolphin. Unfortunately none of our meatfish were large enough to do us any good and since we didn't enter each and every billfish pot , we missed out on a second place sailfish money as well as a three way split on white marlin money. As they say , it just doesn't pay to not go across the board, but the guy who said that also could afford to! Oh well , we'll get 'em next time.  Deep Sea Roundup was a good time as well with Randy and his family and friends from Kansas entering .They fished hard for two days but got knocked off the leaderboard the second day. There was many billfish of each kind caught this weekend and I can't wait to get back out deep and chase'em again!                                                        Thanks,     Capt.Brian

The end of our spring season is winding down and the fishing has been good.  We have been fishing three to four times a week lately and I have had trouble keeping up with the reports as we have been getting ready for the upcoming busy season, but I promise to do a better job.  Here are some random pics from some of our latest trips.

Thanks, Capt Brian

April 23,2005 -Capt Aaron Capt Brian-

Jeff Johnson and Dave Bauer needed snapper for the freezer so, since the wife couldn't come we were obligated to go without her.  Wahoo fished for awhile first off but with no luck, water kind of messed up out deep. Went snapper fishing after that with hopes of grouper or big sows in our mind.Found our grouper after losing a few in the wrecks and proceeded to finish our limit of snapper off  with good size fish up to 13 lbs.Good day despite sloppy seas due to lingering norther.

January 29, 2005 -  Capt. Aaron Chambers and Capt. Brian Cody-

Fair winds early morning made for a nice ride out, but seas kicked up throughout the day. With 4 fishermen, we loaded down with limits of big Kingfish, 2 Gag Grouper to 30 lbs., and a nice Amberjack! A weedline out at Southern looked like it could have some Wahoo potential given a longer trip!

November 7, 2004 -  Capt. Aaron Chambers and Capt. Brian Cody-

Slow finding shrimp boats, but managed to make the  Blackfin Tuna bite happen at Southern. Chummed for several hours and picked up about 15 nice ones. Fair weather and Calm seas for November.
